I Finally Saw Twilight

Ok, I heard so many contradicting things about Twilight that I decided to watch the movie to get my own opinion about it.

On the part of the girls, I usually heard good things, and bad things from the boys, especially from people who had a minimum of classic vampire lore. From what I heard, vampires are not meant to sparkle. I imagined that they would have a aura of sparkly dust around them… I mean they said it was a movie about faeries, right? Oh, wait, vampires.

So anyways, I was curious, and I decided to watch it. I don’t have a TV, so I had never seen any trailers, so all I knew was what I had been told. Here are my conclusions:

1) Bella is a vampire.
2) Edward is a superhero.
3) Sparkles? WTF!!!

Seriously, even if I had been warned that the vampires sparkles, I was not ready for what I saw. I laughed. It was so silly, and so badly made, my idea of shiny halo of sparkly dust around the character was a must better idea.

The acting sucked. I don’t know if the actors were told to look hungry and uncomfortable in order to show their uncontrollable desire toward each other, but it was not credible. For God’s sake, Bella looked more blood thirsty than any vampire in that movie.

And that Edward vampire? That’s not a vampire. I don’t know what he is, but he can fly, he can run super fast, he does not sleep, he is super strong, can walk in the sunlight, he is immortal… Wait, from what I know about superheroes, for  the power they have, they are supposed to have weaknesses to balance some of the awesome. He does not. The fact that he is supposed to be a vampire, and somewhat of an outcast and drinks blood… does NOT make him a vampire.

Sorry about the rant,
