Review of the Book Girls Who Bite
Did you ever wonder what you would get if you mixed desire and lesbian vampires? You get hot sex, that’s what you get, and you’ll get more than enough in the book Girls Who Bite, by Cleis Press. The book is edited by Delilah Devlin, which has also contributed with an excellent story of her own.
This was actually my first lesbian erotica anthology, and I can assure you that you’ll be turned on whether you are straight, lesbian or in-between. It’s also almost strictly limited to girl-on-girl sex, as only one will include a vigorous male in their activities or a group of women. The book obviously includes lots of oral sex and fingering, but also a reasonable amount of BDSM, a little bit of anal play and a few other juicy surprises. Anyways, did you really expect to read vampire erotica without bites, dominance and some level of pain?
The erotic nature of the book is not limited to the fact that you have two women having sex, but also includes the raw longing and carnal cravings that you feel all around them. That atmosphere is particularly intense as the vampires tend to experience love and lust more strongly than humans and particularly when feeding. And they really have a hard time resisting what they want. That’s VERY sexy.
Another interesting thing about the book is that while the theme of lesbian vampires is pretty much set in stone, the stories greatly vary in the plot, location and even time. So if you think that you’re not going to get pleasant surprises with this book, think again and give it a chance. I doubt that you will be disappointed. I also liked the little hint of humor in a few stories that managed to make me smile.
The stories included are:
Bloody Wicked - Vivi Anna
Al Dente - Delphine Dryden
Dark Angel - Paisley Smith
Pet Door - Angela Caperton
Dark Guard - Karis Walsh
La Caída - Anna Meadows
The Crystal Altar - Adele Dubois
Beloved - Shayla Kersten
Bound Love - Christine d’Abo
The Gift of Litith - Myla Jackson
Madeline - A. E. Grace
Red Horizons - Victoria Oldham
Impundulu - Regina Jamison
Night at the Wax Museum - Delilah Devlin
She Knows I am Watching - Rebecca Buck
The stories in this anthology that I preferred were the stories that went beyond the usual vampire and sex story and included darker or brighter folklore. For instance, in the story Dark Guard, you can hear about were-panthers and were-lynx, and the type of setting and background information given were very interesting and definitely caught my attention. So I ended up wishing that the story could be longer so that I could know more. My favorite story is The Gift of Lilith, where the vampire didn’t have the characteristics of a vampire, and without giving too much information, let’s say that the story ends on a very loving and touching moment. It was very nice.
In conclusion, Girls Who Bite is another great collection of stories that will make you envy the strong desires and passion expressed by the protagonists. I had expected a little more sex toys to be used, but apparently, their tongue, fingers and bite are good enough. You can get this great book at this sex toys store I trust, and I would like to thank Cleis Press for sending it to me for review.

Review of the Book Carnal Machines
Imagine yourself in Victorian times where corsets and numerous underclothes would protect a woman’s virtue or honor. Now, to that, add new types of energy sources that can power eccentric machines that are used to satisfy erotic urges, and you get this book, Carnal Machines Steampunk Erotica. This book is so good that if I had enough time, I would have finished it in one sitting, so I had to settle for two.
This collection is edited by D. L. King, and I would be looking forward to another book edited by her. The book of 198 pages contains 14 stories, and even if the usual anthology has about 20 stories, you won’t see the difference. The content is excellent with all the exquisite details that keep you enthralled, the innovative ideas to make Steampunk work, and the surprises that make you smile. Does it show that I loved this book? Oh and I know it’s not something that I often mention, but I just can’t stop admiring the cover photograph by Hartmut Nörenberg (I’ve visited his deviantART page, and he’s got some amazing work).
Seriously, I’ve had my share of Victorian romance in the past and I love sex toys, so a mix of the two would be very alluring to me. The toys that are used are more or less compact, from a simple dildo to a thinking mechanical device, without forgetting the inescapable fucking chair (a perfect pun here, but you’ll see if you read it). Not only that, but sex isn’t always about straight sex, and include some homosexual action, women or men (but you won’t always know for sure until the end), and some BDSM, like bondage and spanking. Also, be ready to see some fantasy elements in some stories, like some fantastical creatures and flying vessels.
The stories are:
Human Powered – Theresa Noelle Roberts
The Servant Question – Janine Ashbless
Sleight of Hand – Renee Michaels
Mutiny on the Danika Blue – Poe Von Page
Deviant Devices – Kannan Feng
The Perfect Girl – Jay Lawrence
Dr. Mullaley’s Cure – Delilah Devlin
Her Own Devices – Lisabet Sarai
Lair of the Red Countess – Kathleen Bradean
Infernal Machine – Elias A. St. James
Dr. Watson Makes a House Call – Essomeh Teepee
The Treatment – D. L. King
Lucifer Einstein and the Curious Case of the Carnal Contraption – Tracey Shellito
The Succubus – Elizabeth Schechter
The only critical comment I could say about this book is that I felt the stories used a little too much the concept of the “Doctor treating hysteria”, but then it’s based on true historical events and it was a good thing that each story did it well. It’s hard for me to come up with my top favorite stories, but I really had a thing for Mutiny on the Danika Blue. The setting was very original as it was set on a ship in space, and the woman-on-submissive-male action really turned me on. As I said, there was a little bit of BDSM going on throughout the book, and it adds a nice palette of flavors to the stories. You can also get this book at this sex toy store I trust.

Review of the Book He’s On Top
He's on Top is a very good book about male dominance and female submission. It presents a softer side to the dominant male that goes beyond the stereotypical dominant that may be depicted in other stories. Forget about the ruthless master, and be prepared to see caring lovers that like to roughen up a loving bottom, in more ways than one.
The stories are all about heterosexual couples who like it kinky and explore their sadomasochist ways through nipple clamps, paddles, whips, spanking, and maybe worst of all, being told not to come - you should try that one, it's not as easy as it sounds. And while it is about heterosexual couples, there is also a few stories where there are two women in the stories. There is the usual sexual activities, and I'd say a little bit more anal sex going on in this book than in those I've read lately. It's something I like.
There is also a variety of narrating style, including the normal third and first person narrators (of both genders), and a few second person ones as well. The narrator isn't always the dominant or the submissive, for instance, the narrator of Not Until Dawn, by N. T. Morley, is the submissive talking directly to the reader, her dom, and we're making her wait all night for her to come. I think it makes a very good introduction to this book, and goes straight into the heart, and heat, of the matter. The story Yes has a similar narrator, except that it is written from the male and reader perspective.
The stories are:
Not Until Dawn – N. T. Morley
Incurable Romantic – Lisabet Sarai
Seizing Monica – Debra Hyde
Confession – Gwen Masters
Yes – Donna George Storey
In Control – M. Christian
A Good Reference – Mackenzie Cross
Boardroom Etiquette – Lee Ash
The Sun Is an Ordinary Star – Shanna Germain
On the Twelfth Day… - Andrea Dale
Thrill Ride – Matt Conklin
Catherine When She Begs – Jason Rubis
Brianna’s Fire – Amanda Earl
Christmas with Suzy and Mary – Mike Kimera
Reclaiming – Teresa Noelle Roberts
Late for a Spanking – Rachel Kramer Bussel
Schoolgirl and Angel – Thomas S. Roche
I think the most touching story is The Sun Is an Ordinary Star, which is the story of a long-married couple who had been struggling with cancer, and yet rediscover their sexuality. I do not want to give a lot of details, but their regained confidence is a beautiful thing to see, and might make you wipe a tear from your eyes. Except for the focus on the nipple clamps, it's a story I would have easily seen in the book Passion, by the same editor.
I think the one I enjoyed least was On the Twelfth Day, but only because it contained too much activity and themes, and was master of none. The settings and the activities are erotic, but not exploited deeply enough. So as soon as I started to get excited by the situation, it would shift to something else. It's not because it is badly written, and I can understand that it is part of the style, but I just want a little bit more, please? Still, it is an interesting story to show how you could initiate someone gradually to BDSM.
This book isn't all about power and pain, but also knows how to show that doms care about their submissive female while being in control. If the submissive females are excited and in awe by being controlled and at the mercy of a good and strong dominant, we also discover how they can also be fascinated, feel special and under the charm of their feminine partner. All in all, you get to see a softer side that makes you somewhat wish you could make a dom proud. And the best part of this anthology is that respect could be felt in every story, and nothing ever felt like abuse.
So, if you are curious and new to BDSM, whether as a submissive woman or even a dominant male, and want to have a better insight on how domination can be incorporated in a positive relationship, you'll definitely find yourself longing for some action of your own. This is definitely a great erotic book to have, and you can also get a copy at this great sex store I trust.

Review of the Book Caught Looking
I already knew that voyeurism and exhibitionism was a turn on for me when I decided to review the book Caugh Looking and I really enjoyed it, from the very first page to the last. It’s not just because I liked the theme of the book, but there was no stories that was stereotypical or boring. Any location or theme used in this book was done very skillfully so that they would have original twists to make them unique and special. Yes, you’ll know there will be sex and someone looking somehow, but this book will have a few surprises along the way.
The book is a collection of 20 stories, and is edited by Alison Tyler and Rachel Kramer Bussel. With its 224 pages, the anthology is a little longer than most erotic novel I’ve had so far, but I completely devoured the book, and I actually wish it was longer. The authors who contributed with a story to the collection are:
Thomas S. Roche – Curtain Call
Saskia Walker – Room with a View
Radclyffe – A Flash of Gold
M. Christian – All Eyes on Her
Tara Alton – Walled Lake Girl
Debra Hyde – Tight Spots
Tenille Brown – Replacements
Catherine Lundoff – The Changing Room
Stan Kent – My Finest Hour
Kristina Wright – The Stars Fell Down
Erica Dumas – Couples Welcome
Sophie Mouette – Busted
Heather Peltier – X-ray Specs
Dominic Santi – Forceful Personalities
Simon Sheppard – The Poet, Dying
Teresa Noelle Roberts – Command Performance
Sage Vivant – The Key
Shanna Germain – Down on Your Knees
Alison Tyler – Late Bloomer
Rachel Kramer Bussel – Sharing the Perfect Cock
I hesitated for a while whether or not I could give detailed descriptions about what happens in erotic short stories, like who, what, where, and whom. However, since some elements like that could be a spoiler in some stories, and I decided not to. I’m sorry, I’ll go with the general description of what you might expect somewhere in the anthology. I can still say that my two favorite stories were about voyeurism. The first one is My Finest Hour by Stan Kent and Sharing the Perfect Cock by Rachel Kramer Bussel. In both there stories, an individual watched his or her partner have sex with a third. Very sexy, at least to me.
The point of view changes from one story from another and is mostly written from a female perspective. As for the voyeurism and exhibitionism content, it’s pretty much divided equally among the stories. There are essentially 11 stories where the point of view is that of the exhibitionist and 9 for the voyeur. As for the locations, they are quite varied, and include a few windows, peep holes, parking lots, cars, changing rooms, a roof, a back alley, showers, bedrooms and hotel rooms. If you care to know, I did notice some minor alcohol use in the book, no drugs and two stories containing adulterous activity.
So most of all the stories are about straight couples and very few are about gays and lesbians. One point that I found interesting is that not all threesomes are the regular one guy two girls, but three women or men can be found in the same room. The sexual activity stays pretty much in the safe zone and on top of my head without going through all the pages, there is no BDSM or anything particularly kinky beyond voyeurism/exhibitionism. Even without that, this book is without hesitation the most erotic collection I’ve had the chance to read from Cleis Press.
So if you are excited by voyeurism and exhibitionism, you’ll love this book as well. And with how sexual this book is, I’d say that the theme needs to be a total turn off for anyone not to enjoy it as well. This book is sure staying in my collection, and you can get your own at this sex toy store as well.

Review of the Book Fairy Tale Lust
The book Fairy Tale Lust, edited by Kristina Wright, is a collection of 18 short stories and has 196 pages. Most of them are inspired by well-known fairy tales, while others were completely original. Even though one or two of the stories have a genre that feel more like fiction than fantasy, they are still very good and entertaining. Not all of the stories were as explicit as I would have liked, but with their entertaining factor, I was not disappointed by this book.
I liked that the fairy tale theme could let the authors let their imagination run wild and surprise me with the content of their stories. The only way for me to sometimes have a guess at the theme of a new story was to get the hint from the title. But then, that guess always had very little to do with the way the author connects the original fairy tale with the events of the story. So no, you won’t guess correctly.
The funny thing with this book is that the content was so fresh, original and fun that my curiosity got the best of me while I was reading. I read so quickly that I was unable to take mental notes of what I’d talk about in my review once I would finish the book. I had to go back and recall what they were about. While I was reading a story again, I realized that I could appreciate even more its sensuality, since I was not sprinting through the book.
There are sometimes magical creatures in the stories, which makes it really fun to read, but without giving any spoilers, there is for instance a beast, a gingerbread man and some kind of demonic deity. One of the most original and fantastic story is probably Her Hair Is a Net, Woven, where some type of water sprite is featured, and the concept was so fascinating that I barely noticed the erotica, which was written in a more poetic and sensual way.
The overall content of this book has elements of fantasy, but it is not too farfetched, and I took it all in quite easily. The writing styles of the erotic fairy tales vary greatly from one another, but most of them are written from a third-person narrator. Most of the book is about heterosexual coupling with the regular activity you could expect between them, but there is some lesbian action, group sex notions, some gentle BDSM (dominance, leather shoes, bondage, biting, and exhibitionism). Take note that in fairy tales, people aren’t necessarily moral in their action and behavior, more like wanton. So I guess it’s a good thing when it comes to erotica.
The list of short stories is:
The Obedient Wife – Delilah Devlin
How the Little Mermaid Got Her Tail Back – Andrea Dale
Ducking – Craig Sorensen
Three Times – Justine Elyot
Ellie and the Shoemaker – Louisa Harte
The Pub Owner’s Daughter – Alegra Verde
Sleep Tight – Janine Ashbless
Her Hair Is a Net, Woven – Shanna Germain
Mind Your Peas and Qs – Allison Wonderland
In the Dark Woods – Kristina Wright
Gildi and the Unwieldy, Ineffectual Committee of Bears – Jeremy Edwards
Frosted Glass – Aurelia T. Evans
Gingerbread Man – Carol Hassler
All in a Day’s Work – Saskia Walker
Big Bad Wolf (An Excerpt) – Alana Noël Voth
The Kiss – Michelle Augello-Page
The Return – Charlotte Stein
The Stone Room – A. D. R. Forte
My favorite story was the very first of all, The Obedient Wife, and I thought that it was an amazing start to the anthology with a writing style so similar to the original fairy tales I’d read as a child. However, with such a great start, I could not help but feel slightly let down by the following stories. Even if they were good, they would not always closely-related to the world of fairy tales, and some of them were modern. I guess that’s why I went through the book so quickly, because I was hoping to read something as excellent or as exciting. But don’t get me wrong, I really appreciated the whole book, but the first one scored big with me (pun totally intended).
You can get this book at this sex shop I trust.

Review of the Book Red Hot Erotica
The Red Hot Erotica book, edited by Alison Tyler is a collection of stories with one thing in common, heat and passion. Heat as in, it’s really hot outside. With such a title, my first impression with this book was that it would be more explicit than another book I’ve read that was also edited by Alison Tyler, but it was not the case. Still, this paperback book of 178 pages contains 19 interesting and exciting short stories.
The authors who participated in this collection are Marilyn Jaya Lewis, Saskia Walker, N. T. Morley, Shanna Germain, Glenda Woodams, Rakelle Valencia, Dominic Santi, Naomi Sussman, Bill Noble, Rachel Kramer Bussel, Marie Sudac, Thomas S. Roche, Somine Harlow, Michel Hemmingson, Bryn Haniver, Erica Dumas, Emilie Paris, Tsaurah Litzky, and Alison Tyler.
With such a theme, there is pretty much no limit to the content of the stories. The settings vary greatly, since things can be pretty much hot and sweaty everywhere. It can be a pool, a boat, a limousine, a classy house, a swinger’s club, a shabby cabin, the beach, and the desert. I know it’s not the whole list, but it gives a good idea that it’s not repetitive.
As for the content of the stories, I’m also stumped here due to the great variety of the short stories. The book pretty much touches everything that can turn someone on. There are one-on-one heterosexual, gay and queer couplings, as well as some group sex. As for the type of activities, there’s voyeurism, exhibitionism, some light BDSM, strap on play, oral sex, and some more hot steamy sex and slightly kinkier things, such as a golden shower. Even if the stories all had something special to turn me on at some point, not everything did and not from beginning to end. People may be warned that even if it’s not uncommon to find alcohol use in some erotica, there is also a tiny bit of drug use in this one.
I do not usually notice the narrating of short stories and focus on the content, but there was so many changes in narrating that I could not help but feel the switch whenever I started a new story. Was I woman, was I man, was I describing what I saw, or what I felt? It’s a mix of everything, and adds a colorful note to the overall diversity. There was some first-person point of view from both male and female perspectives, third-person narrators, and even as second-person perspectives. In those second-person narrated stories, the gender can either be male or female, meaning that if the gender is not yours, the experience is somewhat mind-bending and yet compelling.
Even if the stories very well-written and original, I sometimes had a hard time getting into some of the stories and stay focused. However, I can’t put all the the blame on the stories since I was reading it when there was a huge heat wave in my area. Without air conditioning, I could easily relate to the protagonists. Too much so, actually, and not in a good way as I did kind of wish they’d suddenly find an igloo in which they would have sex.
So, all in all, I think this is a perfect book for anyone new to reading erotica and does not know yet what turns them on in terms of fantasies The book does not specifically target a type of reader, and everyone, gender and sexual identity aside, should find something that they like in this book. For the people who are afraid that all stories include burning and fiery metaphors to express passion, the hotness of this book is more linked to the settings themselves. There is some words related to the word ‘Heat’, yes, but it’s hardly noticeable.
It may be good to mention that all books purchased at sex shop I trust are carefully wrapped in a plastic bag to present any wrinkling of pages, and comes in a pristine and odorless condition (except for the clean smell of paper).
